David Zaslowsky Arbitration
Lower Manhattan seen across the water from Governors Island at dusk, the financial district skyline lit against an evening sky.

David Zaslowsky is an independent arbitrator based in New York, New York and Miami, Florida. Before launching this practice, David spent 40+ years practicing in the disputes group of the New York office of Baker & McKenzie, where he specialized in international arbitration and transnational litigation, and served as the Chairman of the disputes group of the New York office.

David is a graduate of Yale Law School and his undergraduate degree is in computer science. This led him to gravitate toward technology-related disputes, including patent litigation and, most recently, those involving cryptocurrency, blockchain and artificial intelligence. In April 2025, Attorney Intel named David one of the top 25 blockchain lawyers in the United States. In 2018, he launched Baker & McKenzie’s blockchain blog and remained its editor until he left the firm.

David spent much of the first ten years of his career representing U.S. companies (many in the energy sector) in arbitration proceedings against the government of Iran at the Iran–U.S. Claims Tribunal. He has also participated in arbitrations, both inside and outside the United States, before the American Arbitration Association, International Chamber of Commerce, London Court of International Arbitration, International Centre for Dispute Resolution, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, International Institute for Conflict Prevention (CPR), JAMS, United Nations Compensation Commission, General Arbitration Council of the Textile and Apparel Industry and NASD, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. David has also litigated numerous arbitration-adjacent issues, such as compelling arbitration, confirmation/vacatur of awards, discovery in aid of arbitration under 28 U.S.C. Section 1782, and foreign attachments.

David has been included in the Chambers USA Guide, Chambers Global Guide and Best Lawyers in America for his expertise in international arbitration. He has written more than 170 articles in the areas of international arbitration, transnational litigation and digital assets, as well as delivering more than 75 presentations on these topics.
